Robbie Williams has reportedly been lined up to replace Simon Cowell on The X Factor.

It looks likely that Cowell will step down from the show, as he launches his American version of the singing competition this autumn. ITV bosses want him to commute between the US and London to appear on both series’ but insiders say he knows he would be too exhausted by the transatlantic travel and wouldn’t be able to give his all to either show.

So he has chosen his successor.

And sources say that man is Take That star Robbie Williams. The ‘Rock DJ’ singer has been a big fan of the show for years and has performed with the finalists on many occasions. In fact when Robbie and his four bandmates sang ‘The Flood’ on a results episode in 2010, the series enjoyed it’s highest ratings ever….a whopping 17.7 million!
